Standards and Protocols
Positive Mental Attitude is very important for all investigations
Respect posted property, ask permission, and do not trespass.
Ask the spirits of the dead for permission to take their photos or to record their voices.
Always conduct your investigations in a professional manner.
We ask that you keep silent during an EVP session, except for the person assigned to asking questions. If someone does make a noise, they note it in a loud clear voice so the noise can be identified when reviewing the recording.
Show reverence and respect in cemeteries, battlefields, historic sites, etc.
No running or horse play in cemeteries or historical sites.
Follow the lunar cycles and solar storms for conducting investigations for best results. Paranormal events occur during peak geomagnetic field conditions.
Do not take photographs during adverse weather conditions, such as rain, mist, fog, snow, windy, or dusty conditions.
Remove or wear the camera strap so it does not hang loose.
Do not take photos from moving vehicles or while walking on dusty roads.
Remove all dust, spots, fingerprints from camera lens.
Avoid shooting into the Sun for resulting lens flare.
Avoid shooting with flash at reflective or shinny surfaces.
Keep fingers and hair away from the lens of the camera.
Compare anomalous prints with negatives for confirmation.
Always use fresh audio tapes for tape recordings.
Do not rub the side of the recorder while recording nor walk while recording. Stand still to record.
No smoking, drugs or drinking during an investigation. If you show up under the influence of drugs or alcohol or smoke during an event (ghost hunt or investigation) you will be asked to leave.
Private Investigations
When a N.W. Pa. Hauntings - Paranormal Investigator comes to your property you should understand what they will be doing.
We will interview you asking you questions concerning the phenomena and your property.
We will be filling out investigative forms during the interview.
Photos, digital and 35 mm will be taken
We will use Infrared video equipment, along with digital and tape recorders, EMF Detectors, and infrared thermometers.
We will then leave and go over our tapes, pictures and video and other findings
We will contact you to set up a time to review our findings
If we both feel another investigation is needed, we will then set up a time for a second investigation.
The NWPAH usually conducts more than one investigation at the site. We do this because we feel that we get more accurate results if an investigation is done on at least two separate occasions.
The N. W. Pa Hauntings - Paranormal Investigators do not charge a fee for any investigations.
We keep the investigation confidential unless otherwise stated by you.
